Zelensky Lights Menorah on First Night of Hanukkah

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky marked the beginning of Hanukkah on December 7, as he was joined by Jewish leaders to light a menorah in Kyiv.

Zelensky, who is Jewish, said the Hanukkah lights “remind us once again that light always prevails over evil.”

“This holiday is about the victory of the spirit, and this is the most important thing,” he told local rabbis at the ceremony. Credit: Volodymyr Zelensky via Storyful
