NYC's One World Trade Center Observatory Opens, Lifts Curtain on High Vista

The One World Trade Center observatory at the top of NYC’s Freedom Tower building opened officially on Friday, May 29, attracting a number of celebrities, tourists and New Yorkers for an official ceremony, then, as seen in the video, a curtain-riser of the view. The ride to the top, “1,250 feet in 47 seconds,” is said to be the Western Hemisphere’s fastest elevator ride. The observatory takes up floors 100, 101, and 102; admission is $32.
