UKRAINE - La poste ukrainienne a émis ce vendredi 24 février un timbre reproduisant une œuvre du graffeur britannique Banksy, dans laquelle un jeune judoka met au tapis un homme adulte, une allégorie de l’Ukraine battant la Russie, peinte sur un bâtiment en ruines près de Kiev.

L’œuvre de l’artiste évoque l’armée ukrainienne qui met à terre le président russe Vladimir Poutine, connu pour être ceinture noire de judo.

La phrase « Va te faire voir Poutine » a été ajoutée sur la partie en bas à gauche du nouveau timbre, qui reproduit le pochoir.

Rester « dans le champ de vision du monde »

Celui-ci avait été peint par Banksy sur un mur détruit de la ville de Borodianka, au nord-ouest de Kiev, dont de nombreux immeubles ont été réduits en ruines par l’aviation russe au début de l’invasion de l’Ukraine, il y a un an jour pour jour. Un certain nombre des dessins de l’artiste sont aussi apparus à Kiev fin 2022.

Plusieurs dizaines d’habitants de la capitale sont allées vendredi acheter ces nouveaux timbres, dans la grande poste sur la célèbre place Maïdan, dans le centre-ville, a constaté une journaliste de l’AFP.

Présente dans la file d’attente qui s’est formée dans le hall, Svetlana, une économiste de 50 ans, a fait le déplacement « parce que je soutiens les forces armées » ukrainiennes et que « le timbre est imprimé à un moment historique », un an après le début, le 24 février 2022, de l’invasion russe.

Maxime, quant à lui, se réjouit de voir un « premier timbre issu d’une des œuvres de Banksy ». « C’est un geste très cool pour que le monde comprenne l’Ukraine, pour que nous restions toujours dans le champ de vision du monde », a dit cet homme de 26 ans à l’AFP.
