EXCLUSIVE: IHU and Marseille Hospitals Issue Warning Against Pr. Raoul

A new setback for the famous microbiologist and former director of the Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire (IHU) Méditerranée Infection. Despite his almost "forced" retirement and the fact that he is now considered now being on the margins of the university system, he continues to publish work aiming to demonstrate the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in the treatment of Covid-19. However, the latest study, which he co-authored with his former right-hand man, Pr. Philippe Brouqui, and which was published a few days ago in Acta Scientific Microbiology, has just been reported to the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ANSM) by the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Marseille (AP-HM).

In an email we obtained, the hospital strongly distances itself from this new publication, condemning it as unauthorised human experimentation and the use of patient data "outside any regulatory framework." An internal source told Le Point: "This publication is based on illegal data, an illegitimate ethics committee, and elements that have already been flagged by [previous] ANSM investigations." According to this source, "Pr. Raoult's intent is to destroy the IHU, making it impossible to renew the teams or recruit new people. Additionally, this publication comes during a national evaluation period for IHUs. He knows the system inside out."
